As mentioned quite a few times already, nationals will be here sooner than we know it. For some reason, I can't resist the temptation to say a few words - words that I really mean, not words that are said just to achieve something.
Looking at the NUSIS results, its very clear that we're in a real good position this year. A really good one. However the fight isn't over till its over - theres no such thing as a forgone conclusion. What really matters now is how hard and how effectively we train form now till that crucial date.
To my fellow pistol shooters, we've worked hard and climbed back from our defeat last year and am happy to say our hard work is paying off. However we must not be complacent, rather let us continue to strive on and work towards repeating our feat at nusis.
To the riflers, for the girls, have confidence in yourself, and train hard ya. Nusis may have been a disappointment, but that we lost by only 1 point shows how we really do stand a great chance. Do not lose heart, but I hope this will spur you all on to go kick their ass at nats. I realise that for the guys side things don't look all that bright. However let's not give hci an easy time ya.
I know academcis is becoming evermore important and with CTs looming so close difficult choices have to be made. However I implore you to do both - train hard and study hard. Its not impossible - it just boils down to how much your willing to sacrifice. Perhaps a bit less sleep, a bit less tv, a bit less going out. Its up to you to decide how much this is worth to you. Whether in future you want to remember shooting as something to just fill your time, or as something you gave your all for, for nationals 06 to be something you will remember, not matter the result. Because you gave it your all.
I realise I haven't been in shooting for as long as some of you people. However I ask for you to look at my passion not as naivity but as a reminder of the passion you probably once had. To my fellow J2s, this is what we have been training for. Lets not throw all of it away now.
J2s, let us make our last stand.
